I like to read novels and biographies, so if I can review them at the same time, why not. My ratings are usually at the high end because I think if someone has taken the time and effort to write a large piece, it is an achievement. The review will give the opportunity to flag up typographic errors. I do not mark down ratings for these errors because they are easily fixed.

Good to see another chapter on here. It seems to be developing nicely as Alice gets to settle in with her new friends. Not much action but that is okay as the three prepare for the journey. I have to wonder what is in store for them when they arrive and if the enemy is already there. A good standard of writing, as is usual, although a couple of adjectives jumped out at me.

A nice piece of rhyming poetry. The font makes it easy to read and the content gives a very good visual of a tramp of the times.

A very pleasant and satisfying end to the novel. The journey has been an interesting and enjoyable one. Thanks to you though the journey is not over as I must get a copy of the classic 'Hunchback of Notre Dame' of which I know very little. Thank you for creating this wonderful story.

We now get going on the expected action-packed chapter. And I can say that I was not disappointed. The final scene was well-constructed and kept my attention throughout. There was also room for a spot of romance. I did wonder what happened to the archdeacon as we heard nothing more from him as he headed towards the main gate and Frollo. Near the end, there is what looks like a code after: "Twenty years ago!".

This is so good. I will have to get a DVD and watch the film so I can meet some of the characters again.

How good it is to expect things to happen only to find that the characters as well as the reader have been led astray. It is a great piece of writing, therefore, when we find that Frollo's plan was to follow Quasi and Phoebus to the hideout. Brilliant. Getting near the end of the novel and things are moving along well. I would not even anticipate the conclusion, although I feel it will be a good result for our heroines.

An action-themed chapter. I like the way that chapters are not repetitive in that some are quite emotional, some action and some magical. This chapter had me on the edge of my seat so to speak. The chapter ends with the reader anticipating a lot of action ahead. Brilliant chapter and a thoroughly good read.

This chapter comes over as quite emotional. The wounded soldier and Esmerelda seem to have eyes for each other, I think. The upset that follows to the broken-hearted Quasi is well-written and makes the reader feel for him. Then of course there is a hint that maybe Nakoma has strong feelings that she is keeping close to herself. I could be wrong on all points so I will have to find out.

This is one of my favourite chapters, and yes there have been quite a few. I like the way Drizella opened her heart out23 and was obviously filled with remorse. The part at the end where the rose was replanted was a good addition and her thoughts brought the chapter to a satisfying end. Must read on.

This is a good chapter showing a caring friendship and a closeness of characters which can even be seen as a bit emotional. It is well-written and to the high standard now expected. The fire came as a surprise as it was not mentioned in the previous chapter, although if it was it might lesson the good and satisfying ending that the chapter had. It does seem a bit bizarre that the whole city is set ablaze just to flush out one girl. Just a suggestion: maybe the fire could be started in just some selected areas of the city.

A dodgy character. Are we to see more of him, I wonder. I am still enjoying this story.

Another good chapter and it shows the thoughts of Drillela as she reflects on her past.

This is a really good chapter and surprised me with a new and enjoyable fantasy-type thread. It is a great idea to get the gargoyles active. I have never read anything like this before and I am glad to have discovered it. I have no idea where this is leading and that is another good point.

Ah, I made a mistake in the last review as only two girls went down with Quasi, not three. I must pay more attention as my schoolmaster used to say. The story moves on again as Drizella is excepted into the gypsy camp. Will she meet up with her friend again. I hope so. Well done with this story which keeps me interested and eager to find out what happens next.

A nice long chapter with plenty going on. The high standard of writing remains consistent in my view. I must admit that my suspension of disbelief faltered slightly when I visualised Quasi climbing down the side of the church with three women and a goat hanging on to him, but it soon passed. I still find this a great story and I look forward to the next chapter.

The new characters continue to be in this chapter. New to the story and new to me as I have never read the hunchback story nor seen the film. Therefore, a story that already interests and entertains me becomes more so. I cannot fault the writing, although I am no expert in grammar. There is a lot going on in this chapter which keeps the tension high throughout. A really good read.

This chapter raises questions. Is this a dangerous place. How will Esmerelda and Quasimodo add to the story? What has happened to the other two girl? Have to read on to find out.

New characters appear and make this into an action-packed chapter. Two girls become three as they set about trying to right wrongs. The ending is very well done and holds the reader's attention. Writing of a good standard again and no errors noticed. An entertaining read and a refreshing new story using characters from previous works.

A good chapter which gives us a story within a story. However, I found it a bit confusing after: 'See the innocent blood you have spilt'. The paragraphs seem as if they are not separated between characters and run on.

The two girls get on as expected. They seem alike and it is hard to tell them apart as they both seem to have the same personality. I assume that is intentional and maybe things will change. I will have to wait and see. I am impressed with the high quality of writing that has been consistent throughout the chapters. You have a talent for writing which, I assume, you must have worked hard for.

A change back to Nakoma but it does not upset the flow. An interesting chapter where the two girls meet up at the end. How will they get on?

I feel that the start of this chapter: 'Her mother began to laugh' would be better as 'Drizella's mother began to laugh'. The way it is looks as if some previous text is missing. The writing continues to flow very well and, as usual, no errors were noticed. I am getting used to the fact that the two sisters are not such bad people even though they have had some bad press in the past. Drizella is off to Paris where she will no doubt meet up with Nakoma. I look forward to seeing how the two of them get on.

A good chapter which keeps up the dramatic storyline and introduces new characters. I find that the writing remains very well done in my opinion. There is a good hook at the end which gives no clue as to whether the main character in this chapter gets her way. This will cause me to want to find out. Another entertaining read.

A good chapter full of drama as the sister makes her escape. It is good that the reader can sympathise with the sister after the bad press of the past.

We start off on a new thread to the story. The point of view from one of the so-called, ugly sisters is a new take on her story. It is well done and credible and leaves me wondering how Drizella will cope if she is to be a main character. Another entertaining read.
