I'm good at...
Speed Reading/reviewing- 1000 word story won't even take me five minutes to read, and you'll get a review within 10 minutes of me reading it. As it is, my reviews are usually around 300 Characters- minus my Review Sig. However, sometimes they'll reach the 1,000 Character mark. Depends on the Story/item. *Bigsmile*
Favorite Genres
Fantasy, Sci-Fi, Animal
Least Favorite Genres

I will not review...
Interactives that don't have an actual story started - Give me some meat to eat there before you ask me to look at it, with at least one thread being at least 10 chapters long, and not just choices that aren't even developed, preferably written by your own hand. Books - well, not through a Review Request page anyways, as I'd would have to review the book itself and not the Chapter, in order to get paid, but I will review them if you ask me in an email. Anything that doesn't allow reviews. *Bigsmile*

Ah, Friday the thirteenth. In what way is it unlucky? There are many possibilities. For many, going sailing on a Friday was bad luck. For others, well, if you got that trictaphobia (how do you spell it?) thing, you're afraid of 13 anyways. Then, there's this series of movie that - one moment, some fella with a hockey mask and a machete is standing outside my window - shows a guy trying to honor his late beloved mother's wishes, but some jerks keep trespassing upon their family lake. Lot of things.

Having just a boring day. Relatable. I have a lot of "Long days" myself, as folks can tell from my own blog-journal. You get up, take a shower, get dressed, have breakfast, go to work, deal with crazy people of one sort or another. Or, maybe, you're lucky enough to have a day where one can sit on their butt, or lay in bed, and either watch TV, or go on the computer, or read a book, or any other suck "lazy" thing - I like lazy days. Still, seems like you had a nice party with your friend. Personally, I like crab-cream cheese sushi rolls.

Lead found in protein powders and such? Well, yet another reason I don't want to go to the gym - the muscles ain't worth it if you get brain damage from something other than a concussion - at least a concussion might have a cool story behind it, where you can say that you were playing football, or were in a bar brawl. Getting lead poisoning from drinking protein powders.... hard to make getting that sound awesome.... I can't even think of a story to make it sound cool. Just a cautionary tale, or two.

There are many types of relationships. In this case, you discuss polyamory, where folks are involved in relationships with a wide number of people. Now, are they sexual relationships? Not all of them. Most are more emotional, being there, caring for others. Is romance involved? Some of the time, but it seems that they are done with the partners knowing. To be fair, I don't know much about this lifestyle, but, in a sense, don't most practice a variation of it? After all, we all look out for each other, or should at any rate.

It's interesting to see how a word can evolve over time, not just in how it is said, but how it's used, and what it means. The word "Kid" referred to young goats during the Viking era. However, a few hundred years later, it began referring to human children. As to why this was so? I don't know, but I guess someone saw a bunch of human children and young goats running around and thus applied the term kid to the human children as well. There's always something.

Ah, the pleasant memories. The time little brother caught that gihugic carp, which was the biggest fish the three of you boys had caught for over twenty-five years. The time you caught the fish that beat his. The time your older brother managed to roll a Nat20, at Disadvantage, on a Stealth Check, while his character was wearing Heavy Armor. The time you and two others rolled Nat20s to pass three checks - including the fella with serious penalties in his character's Mental Stats. There is always something to smile at.

Ah, loosing power for hours.... that can be very annoying. I can relate to that to a degree or three. There's been plenty of trees that have fallen over the wrong line over the years, and one telephone pole across my driveway. No lights for days with that last one - I even have video of the aftermath of at least one such incident. Worse than having no light is when you got no water, and it's not a "weekend" where you don't need to worry about work for a few days - extra annoying then. But, what can you do, except wait.

A retelling of King Kong from the viewpoint of three minor characters. Now, to be fair, I've never seen any of the King Kong movies, but, at the same time, it is interesting to think about how such characters would see things, given that most stories tend to focus on the viewpoint of the Hero, or Villain, or Whomever the main Protagonist is. It makes one wonder what it is like, especially since most sucjh folk don't get access to even the most basic Plot Armor. Very interesting to read.

Rats seeing bats as prey? Don't lock Batman up with Master Splinter then! *Laugh* After all, while Batman might have studied under those Tibetan Monks, Splinter is a Master of Ninjutsu and - Oh, Hi you two! How did you get into my house? My windows were shut, and locked, same with the doors and -

Still, it is interesting to see how animals can take advantage of situations that humans accidentally, or intentionally, set up. I mean, in some areas with long stretches or roads and such, road engineers put in areas that are either, basically, tunnels or bridges, to prevent animals, like deer, trying to cross to the other side from being hit. I could see how predators could use that to their advantage.

Do writers need confidence? Well, if one is going to show their things to others, even online, they might want a certain amount. Likewise, since there's a 50-50 chance that folks might try to fact check real world things in a work of fiction, one needs to be confident enough in their knowledge, hopefully brought on by doing a decent amount of research to make things sound plausible, especially to the average reader. Then, they will need more than a bit in order to explain their world to readers that ask questions. Always something.

What is the cost of Liberty? There can be a number of them. Time, Blood, and Money are a few of them that I can think of. Blood's easiest to start with - freedom has to be physically defended at times with the bodies, and blood, of those who make the choice to protect it. For some, the cost is Life, others pay a Limb, some their Minds, and others pay Unknown prices. Time - it can take a chunk or two out of one's day to make sure that things are good, and them that defend us lose time with their loved ones. Money, well, those that defend us need to be paid, among other things.

As the saying goes, freedom isn't free.

Ah, rummage sale shopping - did plenty of that with my grandmother. There was always some treasure that drew the eye - sometimes we could get it, and other times, no. As for a cane stool - I've heard of walker chairs, but cane stools - never heard of them. Of course, when it comes to cards, yeah, I can relate there - have something scraped off the bar, and it's no good. Also, not all cards get that tap feature thing. So, it's like, "Hi - issues with the card." Then, you need to wait for the new card - 7-10 business days - and carry cash in the meantime, or transfer the money to another card, and hope that card works. Always something.

Try to describe love without saying the word. Let's see - always there, caring without end, that look in the eyes, opening a door, buying a rose, calling while at work, the little things that make the most of one's life - okay, enough Kenny Rodgers. Yeah, I had to borrow a few lines. Not as easy as one might think, but it can be done, all without saying the word. Now, do I think this poem fits the description? Well, if nothing else, it fits the theme of it, at any rate.

Words hold a power. They put a name to things, places, animals, objects, feelings, and people, among others. With words, we can say what happen in the past, make plans for the future, and, of course, tell each other stories, and we love stories of one sort or another. After all, a good story can help keep one alive, if only to hear the rest of it. Likewise, bad news can be rather devastating to us, in more ways than one. Thus, words hold a power that is beyond measure, more powerful than anything we know.

Is our world a Fantasy world? To some, it might feel that way. To others, it's like, no. However, even worlds that seem like Sci-Fi can be Fantasy. One such series is the Star Wars series. Now, I won't pretend to understand it, but there is the power known as the Force. Now, some more diehard fans can explain it better, but, in many aspects, the Force operates as a form of Magic, where only certain people can use it, you need a certain amount of training to use it well, it can be used for Good and Evil, and the average person is weary of such folks, especially when evil ones take over. Ag, trees. The silent witnesses to the events around them. I got a tree outside my window, a red maple. To most, they wouldn't care - just another tree. To me though, it is special, just about sacred actually. For it and a couple others were planted by my grandfather. It is the only one I can physically touch, as the others are on a lot rented by someone who isn't family, nor do they understand why the trees are special, other than the fact that my great-aunt - who was the landlord, and my grandfather's sister - would of had them kicked out, unless said trees posed a safety risk. Still, them trees are easily 40+ years old, and have seen a lot of things. It has seen cookouts, laughter, as well as ambulances that left with their lights off and folks crying as loved ones were taken away. I hope it stays around a while yet.

Ah, potatoes and football... Personally, I'm not a fan of football, but if you got good food, I can deal with it.

A kid goes to visit his aunt during the Super Bowl game, where it turns out, she's also celebrating National Potato day. As a result, the dishes are all potato based, and she has invited friends, who have all brought a potato-based dish to pass around. Everyone seems to have a good time, enjoying good food and the game, as well as the company, as time passes. Seems it will be a family hit.

Why does one write Horror? Well, there are many reasons. For some, there's someone that they don't like that they wish horrible things would happen to - beaten, shot, burned, strangled, hit by a car, dismembered, eaten by ants, divorce - things that lead to trouble in real life, and thus we don't try to make them go through it. However, in fiction, that's a different story. We can put them through so many crazy situations that Hell will seem pleasant by comparison. Best part - it's completely legal. Yep - the jerk character slipped on a banana peal, and fell, onto a running saw blade, that severed his spine - nothing we'd want done to anyone we know.

Personally, my issue isn't necessarily the changing of how batteries might have improved - which is good if you are all set up for that, my issue is, when a lawmaker, of any sort, decides to make a law which affects folks, like those who rely on gas-guzzling tools and such, and force us to use electricity/battery tools that we can't afford. That could lead to a lot of issues for others in the long run. Makes one wonder what folks are thinking when they make such choices for those they claim to represent?

Thoughts on older Sci-Fi stories - let's be honest, they tend to become Comedy within fifty years, if not less. Ideas that were once popular will get tossed out, or seriously modified. Technology might meet or exceed what existed within the story. Names of countries will change, same with styles of governments. Things that folks thought would happen, might not happen, and go in a different direction. Then there are things we hope stay purely fictional, like the destruction of the world.

Scientific truths and Beliefs - A Scientific Truth can be measured, and can be proven to be true or false. A Belief requires an emotional response, of some sort or another. For instance, I can claim that Purple Thunder Mountain Dew, which has Berry and Plum flavoring, is the best version of Mountain Dew, and someone else will claim that Dragon Fruit Mountain Dew, with dragon fruit (also known as Strawberry Pear, and properly named Pitaya) flavoring, is the best version - I like both by the way. However, one thing we can agree on is that with enough experiments, we can recreate the recipe needed to make ether version of Mountain Dew, perfect for those areas lacking access to said flavors in question.
