Unlike the snobbish definition of a writer as one who writes for money and makes a living off his writing, I consider a writer anyone who puts words to paper (or to whatever) which come from the mind, heart, and soul. This is what I am. Do I strive to make a living off my writing, to be a "professional"? Yes, and I have only just begun that exciting effort. But I do not allow the fact that my "sales" to date barely amount to pocket money to prevent me from referring to myself as what I am. I am a writer. And I encourage you to call yourself one as well if indeed you are like me and have something to say in written form. YOU define you.
