A short poem about finding little purpose in this life. |
-Sad Is The Case- by Keaton Foster Sad is the case What a terrible waste A hellish display Upon a mountain of shame With no peak Only plateaus Momentary places to rest And stare at the climb ahead Or look back at the fall below Fear is both intoxicating and paralyzing It rages like a fire in a forest Full of overstuffed trees Nothing will be saved Nothing will ultimately remain Nothing is every destination All circles have only one side These words, my apogee Hanging on a hook An unreadable book Each page is stained Every world is displaced A jumbled mess of was once was And no longer remains I wish I could make a difference But sadly I cannot I wish I could change the fate Of those who depend Upon these words But fate is far stronger Than any reason or logic applied I cannot change the unchangeable I cannot make a difference Because in this present state and time There is no difference to be made Sad is the case What a terrible waste… Sad Is The Case Written by Keaton Foster Copyright © 2012. |
