A poem about the road that we are on. |
-Sacred Silence- by Keaton Foster Tired of living Exhausted within existence Unable to take any more Having all that can be had Scared silence screams Listen if you dare Relate if you care There is no shame Many of us feel as we do Life is a hard road That abruptly becomes a dead end The asphalt does not extend Nothing is what comes next No U-turns are allowed The car we are driving Has no reverse gear We can step from behind the wheel If we are brave enough to decide We can make the rest Of our journey on foot Out into the darkness Out into uncertainty Sacred silence is our guide Leading us down no path Our one final direction Is completely up to us Many of us are ready While others are not Regardless of distinction The road is the same The destination cannot be changed Sacred silence is what waits Beyond life, beyond the grave Into forever’s embrace Once life is done Once our road comes to its end We must make the journey alone We must go where our decisions Take us… Sacred Silence Written by Keaton Foster Copyright © 2012. |
