Poem describing some emotional feelings of some recent "unpeaceful" protests.

"Unpeaceful" Protests

by Richard Vance

Too much time has crossed the void
with too few words of light.

Too little truth...

The angry rants;
Indecent rhetoric that lacks a moral code
is spread like rising tides -
like garbage floating on a pristine bay –
a poison pill...

Thirty silver pieces pay the way to those who lurk in Satan’s grip,
by royalty that foots the bill – for selfish power’s sake.
.
The goal, it seems: to cut and maim and scratch and bite,
to kick and scream,
an evil one-way fight, a bugle call to hate!

Destroy a way of life...

No decent thoughts, no empathy behind the angry mobs,
No love for fellow man.
Just mindless loyalty to anarchy – a mindless blitz.

So many forced to bear the savage few -
the one’s who seek a dark decay; an empty shell.
Chaos and absurdity abound…

To burn it all – to scorch the earth till nothing’s left
but ashes floating on a restless sea.

There may not be the words to stop the deadly march, and
empty slogans can’t do much for those who need a helping hand.

God only knows where this will end?

With love and peace and common sense -
To finally see the error of their ways?
or...
to choose a fall from grace,

and hear the angels cry.
