Outlining questions

need some advice for plot outlining and handling 8 POVs

Hi everyone!

So as the description says, I wanted some advice. I am a plotter so I was plotting my outline first before writing. Now the thing is I have eight main characters. I know there are too much. I stupidly decided to have 8 when I got my novel idea at age 14. i didn't realize at that time how difficult it can be.....but now since I have developed most characters and have a emotional attachment....I don't want to degrade any to a side. (I have tried my best to give each a main character vibe and tried to make each of them essential to the plot). So the problem is the handling these 8 POVs. I will write in third person omniscient since that seems the best and more easier way of handling.

Now obviously I will have to introduce all the characters before the inciting event. My plot outline idea is to introduce 4 characters in the first chap and than 4 in the second. So I will dedicate 2-3 chapter introducing the characters and the world (but the scenes of each might be long so 30-35 pages will be just about them and world...…). I have an idea of how I can still connect them in a subtle way in these 2 chapters.

I am planning for the inciting event to be on chapter 3 and than chapter 3 and 4 about their separate escape. each of their escape will end meeting one particular main character (some of the characters escape will interconnect and meet other characters and escape together). So there full meet up will be at chapter 5 or 6. (now I think so the each chapters might end up being 15-17 pages long so they will be meeting at like page 70-75 something). Also as for the world, I will introduce it by each characters different interactions and being in different places.

If you are a reader, will you find the pacing boring? Will it be overwhelming to be introduced to new characters one by one and scene by scene? (though I will hint at 8 characters at the very opening scene. I have the opening scene in the portfolio too so you can read it) If so, what do you suggest to fix it? (please side from the advice of degrading a character to side. i have gotten this advice and I have tried but I really can't. And I know it is not impossible to write with 8 characters though it requires a lot of skill.)
