Hello, I'm Kay. Most of my writing is confessional, mixed with class critique, portrayals of trauma, sometimes with a gothic or surrealist edge. I also have bipolar disorder, which I believe influences the style and tone of my writing. I make art too, and if possible, might include some within a blog. Originally from the south, the experience of growing up in a snobby suburb clashed deeply with my parents' poverty and drug use. The town is small enough that my parents' reputation is well known, their mugshots have even been in the local newspaper before. I've moved and have a better life, but I hope those with similar struggles relate.
