Sheherezade is said to have been so skilled a storyteller that her life was saved by it. She was a strong-willed, powerful woman who achieved her ends through words and force of personality. Tellingly, her motif in Rimsky-Korsikov's suite Scheherezade is the solo violin. Who says she isn't a good role model?
