Residing in a small rural village in British Columbia offers many outdoor related activities for me to enjoy such as hiking, camping, cycling and swimming. As a small child I began writing as a form of mimicking my mother. Having always dreamed of writing a novel one day, I joined the ranks of participants in the National Novel Writing Month challenge. I have successfully completed three novels while participating in the annual challenge of which Departure from the Maelstrom is one.
