I have wanted to be a writer for most of my nearly 65 years but, as a single mother, the need to earn a living intervened. Now I have a pension (thank goodness for Australia's Social Security system) so I am taking up the challenge of my lifelong ambition and intend to spend the rest of my days working and thinking as if I AM a writer. Who knows, maybe I will pull it off sometime between now and eternity.
