As long as I can remember, I've wanted to be a writer; according to my mother, while other children my age were playing with building blocks and stuffed animals, I was teaching myself to read the newspaper. While my background is in playwriting, I find myself fascinated with by the study of genre, and how we as writers apply its conventions to our work... I tend to challenge them.
