I think, among other really powerful messages that can be found in American History X, that Edward Furlong's quip about stealing from other writers (since someone before you has already said it better) is funny, yet misleading at the same time. It isn't that we should swipe quotes from others because they sound good. We should expound on the issues that people have been talking about all along. As such, nothing that I write about should be a shocking revelation to anyone.
