short poem

just an ordinary girl
hair egg-yolk blonde
two braids split down the center of her skull.
telling her grandmother a simple story
she says there are angels in the clouds.
her grandmother has gone blind
in much the same way as Saul
for as a child, she would stare into the sun
for hours.
