Goodbye

Losing someone is hard and saying goodbye is harder.

I woke up feeling cold
Something was very wrong
Although you were there
Inside you were gone
It hit you like a bullet
You couldn’t have known
But now you’re leaving me
Leaving me so alone
I wish I could go with you
But I know that I can’t
Remember I love you
Although we are apart

Picturing you up there

The stars shined so bright
That they hurt my eyes
The waves crashed gently

The palm trees swayed

You started walking toward me
Your arms open wide
You grabbed me and hugged me
As I began to cry

And it’s time to say goodbye
You kissed me on my cheek
Then turned and walked away
The stars still shine as bright
Even though you’re gone
I still love you
But now I can move on
