Standing water, stagnant pond

Floating scum; festering frond

Surface blisters: words, words

That cut like swords ...


Reminding of the debts unpaid

Recalling all the things unsaid

Remembering the wrongs, wrong

The sins of omission ...


Why do you come to harass my age

Disturb my peaceful hermitage?

Won't you leave me alone, lone?
