REMEMBERING Life goes by at a quickened pace, Still I remember my mother's face; So many years of hard work and pain, She could still smile, just the same. I was perhaps luckier than the rest, Yet she loved each one of us the "best"; With hands that reached out to everyone, She kept on 'till her work was done. There were nine of us gathered around, Still enough love was always found To make each of us feel special then, Yes, I remember - way back when. My mother is gone, but remembering Makes me feel that she is near again; There is no one could take her place, These are memories time can't erase. She never complained, but sometimes a tear Would escape her eyes, for my mother dear Felt our sadness when things went wrong, In my heart, she will always belong. She knew our joys, our hopes and dreams; And somehow she always found the means To lift our spirits and bring a smile, I'll be remembering for quite awhile. Countrymom 11/21/03 |
