If only my glimpse at Heaven could have lasted a lifetime... |
| Don’t know why God gave you to me; must've been something only He could see. Don’t know why He put your hands in mine; He must've known the way our fingers would intertwine. Don’t know why He gave me your eyes to look into; must've been their Heavenly shade of blue. Don’t know why God sent me your lips; He must’ve known your words were as soft as fingertips. Don’t know why God showed me your heart, but your love came as my world fell apart. Don’t know why God sent me your soul; He must’ve known you’d help make me whole. Don’t know why God didn’t let you live; still, I’m grateful for the blessings He gives. Don’t know why God gave us great years then swept you away, leaving me here, an ocean of tears. Don’t know why He does such things, yet, I knew that you would go— When you came to me, I glimpsed your angel wings. |
