More to come!

A Note From the Previous Reader,

Prelude to the D.R Catalog

Seeing as I’m not fit to carry this anymore, I might as well dot down an explanation. Hello! This document had previously been in my collection for years, and I’m ecstatic that someone else has found it. Additionally, if you uncovered these pages inside a rather ornate leather bag under a birch tree, it means you are the first to discover it! (After it was donated of course…)

The D.R Catalog is a compendium of stories, articles, photos, and documents concerning whomever wrote it. I’ve come to realize that it’s a sort of autobiography, whether fully intentional or not. This autobiography, by the way, is very odd. You’ll understand when you read it…

For many years, I have concerned myself heavily with these texts. Spending nights making connections with my other historical collections, filling out the gaps, and deciphering the nonsense. I do not regret my time, no matter how frustrating this task may be, and find it rather well-spent. Though perhaps, maybe there is trace remorse (concerned with this book at least) that has tugged at my heart woefully. I never was successful in the hunt for the donator, and hopefully you may find them! I’m still convinced the answer to their identity is in here somewhere.

Nevertheless, you’ve found yourself in possession of a “curse”. For when it came into my possession, not a single soul wished to relieve me of it as a purchase. I was younger then, and quite naive to the fact that many do not care for history. In honesty, I wasn’t much concerned with its contents then either. Only later did I learn that it was truthful…

It was also a bit of a burden for those wishing to buy something less…dense. That’s how I came to the conclusion that burial would be the best option, quite crude, but bound to grab the attention of one who is curious. You’ve most likely noticed my body as well, so now you may look your former in his bony face.

On another note, these documents are not entirely linear. Of course, I don’t doubt the author, she most certainly had a reason for this composition, but I’m not nearly wise enough to make story-sense out of it. Some passages don’t even seem to be written by her, whether a cutout from an ancient text or the passage of the pen to another person.

Since you've found this note, please discard it! I don’t want to be connected to this tome anymore! (I also doubt that this author would be fond of a silly old man’s additions as well). If your heart was truly set on relinquishing it from your possession, if you were to give it to someone else, I’d suggest finding a relative of the author. (Yet another venture which I was unsuccessful in, I’m sure there’s at least one…)

But, I’m far too tired to keep writing., and at the moment you’re holding my last work! If you find the time, search for my less brief writings. I implore you to, they are quite good. Oh, and please re-bury me. I hate the idea of being exposed to elements. And after that, take this cursed book far, far away from my body. Please let me rest! Now, I have an appointment with the dirt.

Thank you dearly,
T.U
