"My goodness, mate!" called Winchester. "Who's pinched your puncher so devilishly, old chap?"
"That bugger, Jessup!"
"Oh!" Winchester rolled his tall eyes. "Was it over Marie again?"
Baughman looked away and put his claw into the cool sand, saying nothing.
"She's a shell-trap, I'm telling you! Don't be jealous, just watch old Jessup. He'll be wishing to go into the pit rather than go home, and soon enough, I tell you!
