| Gina Smiled Gina was upset. Mom was on the phone. Mom immediately covered the phone, “Shhhh!” she said, “it’s my boss. I have to listen…” Gina stomped to the living room, Dad watching TV. “Dad!” “What Honey?” he said, not even looking up. Then “Woah! That was the way to go, Did you see that pop? Crumby Cromford just got a home run, and he’s five hundred years old!” “Dad?” Gina tried again, but it was obviously a big event to him. He was actually talking to the figures on the screen. “Howed ya like that smarty pants…” and stuff. Gina stormed out, catching a glimpse of her sister, walked into her room. “Andrea!” she called, “Andrea can I tell you what happened?” “I’ll tell you what happened, Elaine just called and said she saw Randy at Bethamies last night when she was riding by on her bike. With another girl! That slob! He told me he had to work late so we couldn’t go out. But HE went out! He will be a lot more out, when I get hold of him!!!” Gina backed out. Thinking when she gets older, she would never go out with anyone like Randy anyway. She thought Randy was boring! Suddenly Andrea came back out, excited. Elaine just found out Randy got an actual job at Bethamies! He wanted to surprise her! Then Dad yelled, “They still stink! Hey, didn’t you want to talk?” Gina opened her mouth, but Mom turned the corner. “So sorry Honey, I was afraid it was a problem with the Henderson account, I had to take it. But it was just about the janitor’s hours. As if I care… What did you want to talk about Honey?” Gina smiled, she’d totally forgotten what the problem was, but she loved her family. |
