A brief poem on the depravity of hate as displayed in recent events. |
| There is a dreadful poison That seeps deep into the heart, So viscous, caustic, noisome And it tears its host apart. One dose is all that's needed For its tendrils to take root, The vicious draught is seeded Then it grows a little shoot. At first, it's unincredible. You'd hardly know it's there. But soon it marks indelible, The heart, the soul, the air! No antidote will ease its sway, No purge can stop its fate. No careful words hold it at bay; The poison, friend, is hate. |
