what every guy thinks

would you love me


if you knew

this thing i do


so late at night in bed

with tender thoughts of you


my night's a frantic search

for sweet surcease


i thrum a threnody

in rhythm and squeak


i needyou needyou needyou

near me


my search complete

i gladly die a little


and glowing thoughts of you

go back to sleep
