We gather in remembrance,
With heavy hearts we stand,
In silence, honour all the fallen,
Of this hallowed land.

After thirty-seven days of fighting,
The sun climbed o'er the beach,
Its golden rays alighting,
Rimini, at last, at peace.

Seasons and the weather change,
As countless years roll by,
In minds, memories barely linger,
In whispers, few still wonder, why?

Why, when so many brothers,
Paid the highest price,
Does hatred rise anew,
To cut us like a knife?

Why can't we come together,
Share a simple pasta dish,
Break bread in understanding,
Make peace, our fervent wish?

And gather in remembrance,
With love, together stand,
In silence, honour all the fallen,
The last, to be, so damned.
