Poet speaks with parlor fig tree

FIG TREE AND ME

Come, fig, let us
dance and embrace,
and see if we can meet
one another in the
One Life.

Sight tells us too much
and not enough.
Best sometimes to
quiet sight
and learn otherwise.

We don't know a damn
thing about learning, do we,
if we think it's all
through words and sight?

Come, fig, are you
singing to me a song
I cannot stop to hear?
