Hello! This is a poem I wrote for one of my characters and their abusive mother. |
| Kill me, Mother. Kill me with your words a thousand times. I believe you. I will always believe you. Send those slippery daggers into my heart and make me beg for your forgiveness. Kill me with your soulless eyes, with your freezing touch—so cold it burns, so cold it could be mistaken for warmth. And lastly, kill me with your smile. That soft tilt of your lips that made me believe it wasn’t all a lie—The lie you spoke of loving me. Please, Mother, kill me with your lies so I don’t have to. I don’t want to die or drown in the flood of your falsehoods. Not anymore. So kill me now, or I won’t resist the golden rose that shines in the dark. Kill me, because I will never return. You will never see this golden rose again. It belongs to me, and only me. |
