A spiritual poem contemplating life |
| A Momentary Contemplation by Richard Vance There’s happy times and times not so, That come upon our lives like ocean waves, Some rolling gently in and others crashing angrily upon the rocks. With age comes wisdom, so they say, And sometimes we may even think it’s true. We fight so hard, at times, to learn our lines, To practice being us, or someone else… And although we try our best, Our happiness can be a fleeting thing… A moment’s trick, like shooting stars and rainbow views, or memories of a child’s touch. Sometime there’s hope, a time to plan – a light ahead, And other times the world stands still when Unknown latent worlds seem almost clear. When long dark sleep, if that’s the truth, seems not so bad, To rest - to leave our worries far behind… But some things are not ours to choose or change midstream upon a whim. The Good – the Bad, get chiseled deep upon our souls, To carry on the best we can… To walk our chosen path till flowers fail to bloom. February 21, 2025 |
