To Forget

A poem I wrote and impulsively decided to post within the span of 30 minutes.

It's hard to live, knowing you will forget
The anxiety before a test
A meaningful secret entrusted by a friend
Always fading from your head

It's hard to care, knowing you will forget
Angry words that pierce your heart
Sadly watching dreams all fall apart
Emotions running midway after dark

It's hard to explain, knowing you will forget
Uncaring, unattached coldness is
All you manage to express, it's hopeless
When you know you will forget
