Dante has secrets. He's just broken up with his boyfriend. He's moved into crappy new digs. And he's found a hidden subway to the past in his basement.

Each chapter has a theme song that is named in the chapter's title. Links to performances of the songs are in the files "Songs in "Dreamin Life Away""  and "More songs for Dreamin' Life Away" 

Each chapter is fairly short--about 1000 words. At 14,000 words, the entire story is shorter than a novella but longer than most short stories.
