Clouds angry and black rolling in. Raindrops certain to start again. Lightning flashes, thunder begins. Another stormy night. Drops of rain pitter and patter, Then arrive with such a clatter, It’s the only sound that matters; Silencing all else. Left in its wake the faint drip drop Of spent rain that will slowly stop In its descent from my rooftop Forming puddles below. Was originally a contest entry. Rules: 1. No prompt. Minimum: 8 lines.
