poem - why do they all leave when all i want is for them to stay.

I never let people get to close,
because they all eventually leave.
and maybe if I never truly know them,
when they go it will hurt less.
but it always hurts just the same.
it never stops the tears.
the pain.
the disappointment.
the feeling that I will never be good enough for anyone to
want
