Love and loss

We spent so many years together
Offering comfort throughout
Cuddles and pats
My dear sweet cats
The Mama with her wise eyes
And her son who’d paw my arm for pets
You both helped me through sickness
Showing me unconditional love
Now at the rainbow bridge
Watching from above
I miss you both so much
And have cried a river of tears
I’ve struggled with the loss
Although I know you’re no longer in pain
One day my time will come and I’ll see you again
