sometimes we can change our minds, if given the proper nudging

You came into my life just
as I was filled with distrust.
I held a loathing for all men
and I didn't want to let you in.

But you, you rode the storm out.
Somehow you removed all doubt.
And I realized life held more for me
than an existence sad and solitary.
