Poem for poetry month contest |
She walks the street wearing an old white coat, and worn down shoes Delivering the papers for her customers to read the news. 'Granny I have to meet poor old Kate, and I'm going to be late.' 'Why is Kate fussing around you, and she's not poor, she has a few bob ,and owns houses too. 'it's a nice day, you should be going out to play.' But I wasn't listening and zoomed out the gate Going to meet rich old Kate. Note - words a few bob means she has money. an extract from my early years as a child. |
