Identity

There are those who say
you 'are only as old as you feel.'
I'll admit there are days
when that's certainly real.
But most of the time,
for me that's not true:
Age is all in one's head
and one's point of view.
Maybe now my cartwheels
are all in my mind,
and my 'scampering up tree'
days are long left behind,
but give me a treehouse
and I'm up in a minute,
or a zip line race
and I'm in it to win it!
I still love pretend
and the great-grands and I
go on wondrous adventures
to castles on high.
Perhaps not as quickly
but I do what I can,
my secret, you see,
is I'm part Peter Pan!
