Limericks

I was teaching my class about limericks and thought I'd also try to write one.

There once was a white dog name Tango
Who woofed and barked at a red mango
She thought it was wood
But it tasted so good
She left it a mess and a tangle.

There once was a small bird in a tree
Who started to look strangely at me
I didn't make a sound
Kept my eyes on the ground
And soon she was singing merrily
