It's the day after Memorial Day,
the day after the unofficial beginning of summer,
the day after crowds of partyers--
ignoring the social distancing rules--
hit the beaches
to celebrate freedom,
without taking responsibility
for their actions.

Memorial Day
the day we commemorate
the sacrifices
of those who took the responsibility
to fight and die
for the freedoms we hold so dear.

Responsibility
