Overcoming

Fear of people
Weighed me down,
Rooted to the ground.

Don’t ask me what I think,
Don’t look at me, please.
What I do know
I just can’t impart.

The words were sealed
Deep within my brain
Where they remained
Year after agonizing year.

But then you came
With your various assertions,
Leading me into sharing,
Causing my fear to dissolve.
