Adolescent Flash

Please critique this flash piece about a semi-actual event.

The 17 year old pounded down the stairs, frowning. When he turned the corner, he noticed the item sitting on the dining room table. Referring to the table as boy, he ordered it to relinquish the sweet treat. He then declared out loud to no one in particular that the corn muffins that were already his, by agreement of his parents, were his now. His father, sitting on the loveseat in the living room opposite, didn't appear to notice.
