Floating on a Bubble

Heat of a summer vacation
Burns holes in my feet and wallet
Wading in though drowning in debt
Kids laughing, playing, unaware
Their future must stay afloat, too.

Form: mGur
Tibetan form of seven or more syllables (I used 8), usually in five lines. A vehicle for meditation or prayer which often employs metaphor or parallelism. A little tongue-in-cheek, as usual for me.
