A raay poem about BEMs that go Boom in the night. |
Stay Alert! Odd lights in the sky My power flickers First warning I get Yet I still ignore for I don't expect Specked alien *BEMs. Stems sprout from each head Red-tinged eyes bobble Wobble till they see Me, trapped and alone. Shown terrible things Wings of green-flecked flesh Mesh-covered talons Gallons of liquid Slid down my torso Though I try to stay They take me away. Stay alert. Don't blink. Think fast if the lights brighten and flicker Quicker than quick - RUN! *BEM is a classic sci-fi term for bug-eyed monster and generally refers to aliens with eye stalks. Form: Raay or Rai - Thai poetic form written in stanzas with five syllables to the line and the last syllable or word of one line rhymes with the first syllable or word of the next. |
