Surrender

Frustration, anger
At the world
At myself
Pills don’t help
Sleep doesn’t help
I try to relax
I stop and freeze inside my house
Just for a moment
Then a voice
Inside my head
Calls me to walk
My legs now comply
I walk to the pool
Down the steps
Touching the warm, embracing water
I hear nothing but nature
My feet move
Down the steps
Until I start to float
I turn on my back slowly
I do not struggle or sink
After five minutes
I hear the voice again
That says
You are okay
Surrender
Your hate
Your pain
Your doubts
Get out of here now
And
Live.
