Sometimes the world sees us
different from who we are,
defining us with labels
that don’t always fit.

They don’t know the true self,
full of passions they can’t feel,
gifted with talents yet untapped,
just waiting to finally break free.

They refuse to admit the truth;
we are more than what we seem
as we search out our deep desires,
paying no heed to what they say.

Sometimes the world defines us
different from who we are
limiting us to false labels
against which we stand.
