Australian Shepherd

Bruhni, short for Brunette, is my red merle Australian Shepherd, faithful friend & guard.

Australian shepherd in the house
as sweet and quiet as a mouse
when she's asleep, and with her loves,
none other lives in heart above.

This Bruhni girl, for that's her name,
is loyal to all loves the same,
I would not venture to the door
unless she's met you once before
or you're now with a one she loves
that her strong sniffer may approve.

Blessed friend of fur now these six years
committed to me it's quite clear,
she lays on floor beside me so
to guard her master where I go.

My Bruhni loves to play at rope,
that winning she may give me hope,
"My master, my great strength defends
you ev'ry day whe'er you send
for living in the world of men
my master's wish is mine."
