An Olive branch to a lost soul, devoured.

LIV (E)

The lady in her white flowing dress stood, looking down the long eerie path that lead to a garden of her lover. Fragments of her grief surfaced as she began to cry at the setting of sun. She could never see him again, he was lost to her forever and she only wished to have him by her side once more. There was only one way left in her mind. With tears streaming down her face, she walked toward the garden. Slowly she opened the gate and entered the sacred ground her lover had so worshiped.

Flowing upon the edges of the horizon, the rays gave her one last glimmer before they slipped away. The trees blew around as the sun finally fell out of site and the shadows closed in around her. Darkness swept in crashing down like an ocean wave consuming everything in its path. The light from the lamp post lit up, it flickered and sputtered as it shone. it was all that remained between her and certain doom.

Slowly, it dimmed until finally it was extinguished all together. The light had left the creepy garden and it was devoured back into the darkness, its most comfortable form. The woman become blind to all that lurked in front of her and a warm silent feeling fell over the gated shrine.

"All I have left is the darkness, I feel at home. The darkness is my safety zone, it makes me feel at ease. Let no light come in, for then all will see. The scars that were left behind. The hurt that still consumes, for in the darkness I can hide what the light wants to expose. In the shadows I feel the coming of a storm. Pitch blackness wraps around me, it gives comfort for what is about to come. As I stand inside its shroud, time passes me by" she told herself as she walked along the cobblestone path.

Unknown to her, the Devils Dog paced back and forth under the cover of night. Her sadness had summoned him to her cause, her fear wafted upon the air. Her scent so close, his mouth began to salivate as he waited for his chance to snatch her in the night. The sobbing lady was unaware, from behind the Demons Pet placed his lips about an inch from her ear. She felt the warmth of his burning breath upon her skin as he began to speak.

" Why do you come here my dear mmmmmmm? Your skin so soft, delicate, your smell mmmmmmhmmm so sweet! For my Master craves to have you for a feast. Will you come with me, will you surrender to the darkness and accept this invitation from the Demons Beast?"

The Hellish Creature could hardly resist the temptation to satisfy his hunger as he evaded and moved around in the garden. Fright ran through the woman’s mind as she could not see what lay before her. The lady panicked and tried to run back to the gate while the vile creature gave chase, brushing by the girls dress. Finally, the Demon Deity took his chance and cast his spell. The woman suddenly fell to her knees, sobbing by the gateway.

" Set me free from my misery, do what you will for I cannot see another way to end my tragedy........." The woman pleaded.

Just before he could finally grab his prey, the Ghoulish Beast pause; for something unexpected happened. As the clouds cleared away, the moon had broke free of their grip. The eerie pathway lit up as shining beams of light came down from the Heavens. They hit the stones and shimmered along the path to the gateway where they lit up the garden. The gateway cast a shadow on the ground while the devil dog retreated for cover within the foliage.

Her eyes became wide as she looked up in amazement at the figure who resembled her true love. She stood up to receive him, the girl thought that the Lord had heard her pleas. The shadowy figure descended within the moonlight and it became too brilliant for her to look at so she closed her eyes. With the snap of his wing, the Angel of Death had answered the call.

Standing upon the end of the path, the wind blew back his cloak and it flapped in the breeze, almost causing the Devils Hound to flee. The demon anticipated a battle while he laid in the dark shadows of the bushes, hiding from the shining moonlight. The creature held his ground, even when its skin was set ablaze by the tiny penetration of burning moonlight.

" The woman is mine, she gives herself freely" the Hound of hell spat from his vile lips.

The figure swiftly moved to avoid the snapping jaws of his enemy as they danced upon the moonlit stones. They fought for the rights to her soul. The Beast jumped upon the shadow, pinning him to the ground. His hood almost fell back exposing his identity.

"You cannot have her, the girls spirit is not for your masters filthy paws, I will not allow her soul to be usurped." Said the cloaked shadow as he threw up his arms and grabbed a hold of the creatures neck. Pulling him close, the Hound began to struggle and burn as the figure tightened his grip.

"She's coming with me and there is nothing you can do, for I am the Grim Reaper!" He laughed as he threw back his hood exposing its face.

Finally a ball of flame shot fourth as the fiend was engulfed in the light that came from within his garments. The Gruesome Beast disappeared back from which he came.

Undefeated, the creators hand had vanquished his foe. He stood over her. Holding up a gemstone of perfect cleavage which he removed from under his cloak. The moon rays were drawn into it. They shot out as he raised it up into his hand and a beautiful twinkle radiated from the jewel which fell upon the girl. It began tearing away at the darkness in which she had become submerged. Its rays pierced through the darkened vale until finally it had nowhere to run and it revealed something more beautiful than before.

Her shining brilliance there for all to adore. The woman realized that even though the vale of night had fallen, there was always a form of light that could find her wherever she would stand. Wherever she may be, her soul would be set free. The kindred spirit put fourth his hand, helping her up to her feet. She looked upon his face and without a word. Suddenly a voice entered into her mind.

" There is a better way for you to be, will you come with me? I have things you need to see and I will show you just what I mean."

The lady stood up from the ground taking his hand. There they spoke and walked within the moonlight which fell in the eternal garden of peace.
