A poem about writing for Newbies Are The Judge Contest |
| Starting Over We writers love to ply our craft Sail our words both fore and aft But we often feel quite daft When we must start over When our poem won't work out right For the rhyme's nowhere in sight Trudging on won't find the light Time for starting over When our meter is all wrong Syllables too short or long The poem has sung a sad swan song Time for starting over When the message isn't straight There may be no happy fate That poem won't leave the starter's gate Time for starting over Never feel too sad or blue When you're on draft twenty-two And the words still don't ring true Still time to start over If you give another try You may find your words will fly And soar like eagles in the sky The prize for starting over |
