Boxing Day

Boxing Day
Boxing Day
Why is it
Called Boxing Day?

Could it be
Those Christmas treats
Made your waistline
Grow three feet?

Now you need
To find the box
With your fat clothes
And fat socks

Or a box
To discard this:
Last New Year's
Resolution list

I suppose
It's none of those
And so each year
The mystery grows

Next year my list
For Santa may
Ask him why it's
Called Boxing Day
