Time for Change

It’s time for a change!
Why was I such a fool?
I remember our beautiful
walks in the Garden of Love.
My heart beat fast.
My eyes saw stars.
I felt that I had
the romance of a lifetime.
Each blossom we saw seemed to be
more colorful than ever.
And when we held hands
there was such a warm connection.
The promises we made
were supposed to be for eternity.
But since you said that
you were only trying to make
your true love jealous,
I crumbled and lived in despair.
Your laughter was
like a knife in my heart.
The showers were tears
from my eyes, not rain from clouds.
And you can be sure,
so sure,
that next spring,
I will be strong
and in love with my life.
And I doing what is best for me!
