Sept 8 Entry (Couplets) - WDC Birthday Poetry Contest |
| Reflections Playfully, the light reveals a treasure painting reflections at its own leisure. A shimmering canvas, deep in the wood, that only exists at the place where I stood. Poplars stretch into the autumnal sky in supplication and a fond goodbye. A nascent breeze cajoles, trying to coax a harvest of leaves with whispering strokes onto a canvas, now bright with the sun that in time will change to a darker dun as the light fades at the end of the day and night’s dark palette adds touches of grey. The beauty of nature, not in a book but reserved for those who will stop … and look. An entry for "Invalid Item" Prompt: 8th September – wood, day, leaf Form: Couplets. |
