A poem written for my sister's 20th anniversary. |
One August day, twenty years past, One man and one woman Pledged love to one another From their next breath to their last. Two kids and a lifetime later Their love still holds strong. They've had their ups and downs; Held each other close when things went wrong. To those who haven't married, It can seem a miracle of life. This woman adores her husband; This man cherishes his wife. To you who are unknowing, Their love may seem unreal. It's a true and wondrous thing This love they still feel. In another twenty years, We'll see them still together. There'll be more laughter and tears But their love will last forever. |
